Stellan Varg

[attr="class","classicbox"]Stellan has a rather athletic build. He's tall, ending up somewhere around six feet in height, and is heavily laden with muscle, his weight landing around a hundred and seventy pounds. He has thick, unkempt and curly hair that is rather dark, though holds amber tints in the sunlight. He doesn't shave often, though he can't stand having a scraggly beard; he keeps it well trimmed and takes better care of it than his hair. His complexion is clear, though his skin-tone is rather pale despite many hours in the sun. He boasts a beautiful set of sapphire eyes that should be the most remarkable feature about him, however his face was scarred by the claws of a bear and seem to attract more attention. Stellan is a peculiar yet likeable Jarl, he is a playful man who is a very compassionate and loyal person. He is very musical and enjoys to hum, he also loves the sound of laughter and has no filter for when it is right to laugh or not. Sometimes his stress levels even out better when he ends up laughing. His passions are learning new knowledge, swordmentry and to be honest; animals and winter. Stellan enjoys the companionship between himself and his wolf who is like a brother to him; which being Stellan's brother is a large feat in its own. Family means a lot to him and someday he wishes to add to his family, that is whenever he decides to find the right woman. He dislikes Politics but enjoys when they turn in his favour, especially for honourable purposes.
[break][break]Stellan was born as the eldest son and child to Edric and Alerie Varg, and while they couldn't have been more happy about the occasion, their Jarl had other, darker feelings about it. Ulgar and Edric had once been the best of friends, but when Alerie chose Edric instead of the Jarl to wed, Ulgar became malicious towards his friend. It started with snide comments and the occasional glare, which served to inform the Jarldom that the Varg family was not in Ulgar's favor. However, as time progressed and the Varg family grew, Edric bearing three children in less time than it took for Ulgar to conceive one, the snide comments and looks morphed into hateful actions. Ulgar began to claim kills that Edric made, telling the rest of the Jarldom that he hunted whatever it was that Edric brought back, and then shunning him for not hunting enough. He also refused to acknowledge the other work that he did; making weapons and other tools, and made Edric and the rest of his family, out to be lazy, unproductive members of the Jarldom.



Despite all of the heat he was taking from the Jarl, Edric remained happy with his life and content with his family. However, as the years passed, his son, Stellan, grew more and more enraged at the treatment that his father and the rest of their family received. Each and every one of Ulgar's actions felt like a personal assault on Stellan's pride, though his father counselled him to be patient, and to find solace in other things. The boy tried to heed his father's advice, and for many years ignored the Jarl as best as he could. He became one of the best hunters in the Jarldom, and while he didn't always agree with raiding towns and villages, every one that he attended was successful; proving that he was rather strategic, and although he was still young, many of the men looked to him for guidance during such ventures.



It wasn't until Stellan was seventeen that he could no longer put up with Ulgar. Stellan and Edric had gone out hunting, and managed to bring down a bear. They even bore wounds from the battle, but when they returned from the hunt, Ulgar assembled the Jarldom and told them that he had brought down the bear single-handed. While the rest of the Jarldom didn't really believe him, considering the fact that Edric and Stellan stood there bleeding, Stellan was so enraged that he would dare claim such an astounding kill that before thinking about it, he challenged the Jarl. Despite the fact that the man was older, Ulgar was still a rather formidable opponent, and Stellan had been injured from the bear hunt. However, despite a few nicks from Ulgar's sword, Stellan came out victorious, having plunged his sword through the Jarl's stomach.



When the battle was over, Stellan was willingly accepted as the new Jarl. There had been no love lost between Ulgar and his Jarldom, and Asgard had been eager to see a new leader. Despite being young, he had already proven himself in the Jarldom, and in the years following, assured Asgard that he was a good leader. It wasn't until just recently that he found out that a woman he'd been betrothed to since he was fourteen (Inge Solberg of Niflheim) had been gifted to somebody else instead. When he heard the news he knew immediately what he was going to do, and set out for Aleikith.
