Aksel Solberg

[attr="class","classicbox"]Aksel has an air of youth about him as he is still growing into a man. At 18 years of age, he's already 6'3" tall and still has a few years left of growing to do. Even though he is young, he is finally past that awkward stage and his body is exactly that of a young warrior. He is tall and broad shouldered, with a slim muscular build that has caused others to underestimate him. He has the beginnings of beard covering his face and he takes excellent care of it. The sides of his head is shaved and his golden hair is usally pulled back and away from his face. In battle, a large hunt, or during trying times Aksel wears thick blue paint on his skin. The design and color is meaningful to the Niflheim and represents the Solberg lineage. [break][break]

Aksel is often compared to Inge in that they are night and day in personality as well as coloring. Whereas Inge seems to be more reserved, Aksel is known to be a bit more playful and outgoing. Aksel is friendly, but that does not mean that he takes everything at face value. On the contrary, he is observant and usually trying to puzzle out nuances in the behavior of others. Aksel has always been curious about his surroundings and he's not afraid of change. He enjoys a good prank, even at his own expense. Aksel enjoys playing and rough housing with children just as much as hunting or fighting.

[break][break]Aksel was the youngest born to the Jarls of Niflheim; Ingvar and Fran Solberg. Fran was promised to Ingvar through pact with the late King Aleikith. A reward that would have to be paid back in due time with one of their children of course (Not that the Jarls knew this would be the case at that time.) Ingvar and Fran were both experienced parents by the time Aksel arrived. Their first child, and heir, Inge was born four years prior and their second daughter, Frejya, was born only 11 months before Aksel.  



Inge, being the leader that she was, gave nicknames to both Freyja and Aksel. As far back as Aksel can remember, they have always called Frejya "Blue." When Aksel was five years old, he wanted to play with Inge and he did not completely understand why she had to study from books. So he took her one of her books and ran off with it. Inge, predictably, chased after him though she was not able to catch him. Inge would call after him and Aksel would just laugh and avoid capture; at which point Inge yelled, "Come here, you little Fox!" Indeed, he was quick on his feet as well as cunning even at that young age. After all, he basically got his older sister to play 'chase" with him even after she refused to play. He answers to both his given name and his nickname.  



Aksel, as the youngest, received a lot of training from Inge, as well as some from Blue in addition to everything that his parents wanted him to learn. He was curious about everything and would often follow after one sister or the other to see what they were learning and to tag along. Due to this, Aksel feels a very deep bond for both of his sisters and would do anything for either of them. Aksel isn't overprotective of them because he knows that they can both handle themselves. However, if anyone were to hurt his sisters, nothing short of his family would stop him from seeking retribution.  



Aksel became a seasoned warrior, a master of weapons, and a good hunter. Shortly after Inge was sent to the Crown Prince Kristoff, Aksel decided that he wanted to learn about his mother's people. He also wanted to see for himself that his sister would be treated well. Their parents gave their blessing and off he went to Aleikith.
